Expensive, but damn good.
The SCS chain guide (Syntace Chainguide System, Patent pending), is the world first in fully shiftable 27 or 30 gear chain guides, providing completely reliable function even under harsh conditions.

Suitable for frames that are factory equipped with Syntace SCS tabs, such as the Liteville 301 as of Mk8, Liteville 901 as of Mk1, Liteville 601 as of Mk1.

Smoothest Low-Friction Operation
Whilst already providing super low friction in dry conditions, in gritty and wet conditions the SCS is absolutely unrivalled; the glide plate design completely eliminates the chance of notorious pulley jam-ups even in the muddiest conditions. The SCS is extremely quiet and has absolute minimal friction loss due to both a specifically designed glide path and plate (Pat. Pend.) made of a special low friction polymer, as well as a significantly larger and softer chain deflection radius. In fact the SCS chain path corresponds to an approx. 90mm (!) pulley, or if we express this as a percentage, over 220% of a conventional chain guide design.
The result: chain deflection on entry and exit of the SCS, link-by-link, is less than half that of a traditional chain guide.

Intelligent Chain Path
By keeping the chain in the glide plate tunnel the SCS-patent reduces annoying chain backlash, as well as preventing the chain slipping off the front rings when the rear shock is in a compressed state. This results in smoother action and greater reliability than with conventional chain guides, even when using full travel in rough terrain.

Backwards in all (!) gears
Multiple backpedaling no longer leads to the chain slipping off the front rings. This is an especially significant attribute when doing advanced moves such as swapping the stance by performing a back-pedal while doing a nose wheelie to get the “better” food forward or simply because of the technical terrain. Now, only the guide capabilities of your derailleur limit the usability of diagonal gears such as “big/big”.

Bashed on something? Just ride on…
Due to the FEM optimized low profile, with two twist-preventing direct mounts to the swing arm, both the SCS chain guide and the frame yoke always remain fully in tact, even after “bash-loads” corresponding to over 400kg*. Furthermore, the extremely tough underside of the low-friction polymer glide effectively acts as a skid plate, reducing friction when lifting/manoeuvring the bike over large rocks, urban walls, or park benches. This further aids in reducing the risk of bending (with consequent re-straightening attempts) your chain guide, or possibly even tearing the entire chain guide off.

Tyre Guard
The rear section of the SCS glide plate and the far forward-mounted SCS main arm form a shielding tunnel, protecting the lower chain and the glide plate upper surface from dirt and mud shed by the right side of the tire.

No tooth-loss
Even after multiple and severe terrain and obstacle contacts to the underside of the SCS, the upper contact surface of the low friction glide plate remains fully intact. In stark contrast to commonly used pulley style chain guides where, due to rotation of the pulley, damage from rock strikes can dramatically increase running friction, or even prevent the chain from meshing with the pulley altogether, the Syntace SCS has the underside exactly where it belongs.

By replacing the glide segment, the SCS chainguide can easily be turned into a 2x or 3x chainguide.
